Due to a security hole in older versions of wordpress (sub 2.7) I needed to upgrade the back end of my site which no only broke all of my addins but it also broke my theme. I am currently riding with a default theme until the time at which I can create a new one.
Big changes are a-brewing for philipstraatsma.com. Long gone is the funeral procession look and feel.
Incoming is a clean, bright and easy to read style that will generate a more creative location for my random written entries.
Expect the site to look like mismatched step child for a while during the change over.
Update:
The menu bar and title splash are more or less complete. The photograph at the top will rotate randomly each time you visit the site to something or another I have taken throughout my life’s journey.
The problem is, once I start I can’t quit until I am finished.
Tonight I added the recent posts side-bar-item-thingy. I also spruced up the graphics a bit on the right side as it was quiet plain.
Look for the footer to return sometime soon when I receive a “graphical inspiration”.

I am convinced that I will finish this page before the end of April. I am still in the process of finishing up adding in and modifying the plugins for this site. I have run into a bit of a problem though, I still need a plugin that will show my current books, music and games and another plugin that will create a useful archive page. If you are a Wordpresser and know of any plugins to complete the job let me know by leaving a comment.
Update:
It’s about 3:20am and I am beat, I mostly finished the side bar which included axing much of the content and rebuilding it the way I wanted it. I modded and installed the tag cloud plugin available from software guide. I then added the friendly links section as well, what is the saying, “keep your friends close and your enemies closer”? I am not entirely sure how that applies but it sounds good right?
I have started work again on my site this week. Currently I am re-sizing the nav tabs as I think they a bit too big. I am also in the process of adding the plugins I need to make this site a little bit more interesting. Stay tuned.
Looks like you have somehow managed to stumble upon my secret site and should congratulate yourself. As you can tell most of this site is under heavy construction and thus has not been added to the public domain.
This is both my first time working with the proper xhtml/css design and wordpress themes so I am a little apprehensive about how it will turn out. Please feel free to leave comments and suggestions as you see the site evolve into it’s final version.
