About this site:
philipstraatsma.com was born out of the need to express myself artistically in design, code and writing. While not a complete deviation from my work and school life, web design is more of a hobby then anything else.

About me:
I wish there was a really cool story about how I came into this world, but alas there is not. I was born on Easter day April 11th, 1982 in East Grand Rapids to two very loving parents who attempted to raise me best they could. I grew up in a very conservative yet progressive city and have taken on those values as my own.

During a stint in the Michigan coastal city of Holland I met my wife at the local New Holland Brewing Co. over a stein of their finest hard cider. Well.. sort of.. you see I was actually hitting on one of her friends that night. The day after I came to my senses and realized that the woman that would become my wife was the right woman for me. We have been together now going on three years of perfect newly married bliss*.
